Direct Addmission in MBBS Donetsk State Medical University

The Donetsk State Medical University has greatly contributed to the development of Ukraine' higher education system, medical science and health services.

More than 40,000 specialists including over 2,000 doctors from 89 foreign countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and America have graduated from this glorious University since the year of its establishment (1930) and became well-known researchers, health service organizers working in Ukraine and overseas.

Nowadays the Donetsk State Medical University comprises three faculties of general medicine, the Post-Graduate Department, the Nursing Faculty, the Preparatory Faculty for foreign students and the Medical Lyceum. The University supervises two Research Institutes as its structural subdivisions.

The main pride of the Donetsk State Medical University is its teaching staff presented by 18 Academicians from various Academics of Medical Sciences, 140 Doctors of Sciences and 510 Candidates working at its 74 departments. Many of the renowned professors teaching at Donetsk State Medical University read lectures overseas. About 3,500 students including about 500 foreigners, over 50 clinical trainees, 60 post-graduates are studying at present in the University.

As great emphasis is laid on training highly qualified specialists who combine a profound knowledge of their latest achievements in medicineat top professional level, the Medical University has gained an excellent reputation as one of the best medical education centers of Ukraine.

The Medical University provides its students with modern hostel accommodation and large library. It organizes regular social events and various activities throughout the year. In addition, there are different societies within the University which give the students the chance to meet and get to know others with similar interests. The students are able to use numerous facilities for sport activities.

Training at the University is done in the Ukrainian, Russian and English languages.

After six years of studies at the Medical University the graduates specializing in General Medicine are awarded with a GP-Specialist Diploma. On having successfully served their internship or specialized clinical course, the graduates obtain a narrow specialization in a particular field of medicine.

During the first two years the University students acquire knowledge in various fundamental medical subject: anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc. Since the Third academic year they start their training at special (clinical) departments of therapy, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, ophthalmology, skin diseases etc.

The course of studies at the Faculty of Pediatrics lasts six years. First, students start learning medico-biological subjects, and senior students take up propedeutics of childrens' diseases, pediatric surgery, childrens' infectious and other diseases at special departments, mastering the skills of pediatric specialities. The graduates start their professional careers as doctor-pediatricians and get specialized in some specific fields on having completed the internship or special clinical course.

The duration of studies at the Preventive Medicine faculty is 6 year. The curriculum is similar to the General Medicine Faculty. Besides, The students take studies on epidemiology and various hygienic subjects. The graduates start working as doctors at sanitary-epidemiologic institutions, as practical epidemiologists, occupational pathologists, or continue research into hygiene and epidemiology at different Research centres.

The first and second year students stydy medico-biological and medical subjects, next they master their would-be profession at the following departments of Dentistry: propedeutical, restorative, surgical, prosthetics and pediatric dentistry. Throughout the five year of training the graduates are awarded with diplomas of qualified dentists and after completing the chosen specialization course (internship or special clinical courses) they acquire the speciality of dental therapist, surgeons or orthopedists.

The Pharmaceutical Faculty graduates obtain the qualification of pharmacists and can work at chemists' shops, various research centres or in pharmacy industry. Throughout their first three years at the University, the students of this faculty study fundamental medical subjects. During the fourth and fifth academic years they specialize in pharmacy.

To enter the Nursing Faculty one should have a secondary medical education certificate. The University graduates who has specialized in nursing are awarded with diplomas of nursebechelors and can work as head nurses of paramedical work organizers.

The Preparatory Faculty has the license of Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science that allow to prepare foreign students for the prediploma preparation for the further studies in the Universities of Ukraine and CIS.

During 14 years of its existence Preparatory Faculty has prepared nearly 1000 foreign students for medical and other Universities of Ukraine.

High quality of the teaching process and goal-directed for ationgive necessary knowledge and skill (for example - the lanuages of biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology for medical University; the ones of economics, engineering, computering and other for non-medical Universities) which guarantee the foreign students to acquire professional language.

One having successfully passes their examinations the students obtain the Certificate of international manner that allow them to continue their education either at the chosen faculty of the Donetsk State Medical University, or at any other University of Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries.

History

Gomel State Medical University was founded in 1990.
Gomel State Medical University contains:

205 highly-qualified professors, senior lecturers, assistants;
31 department, 5 profile exploratory and a central research laboratory;
18 large clinics equipped with the modern equipment;
more than 2000 (including more than 100 overseas) students taught at
faculties of the University;
the library with rich volume of books and access to Internet, three reading
halls enabling adequate preparation for the educational process;
modern hostels with comfortable flats, lounges and physical training room,
sports base;
computer classes with access to Internet.
For the years of its existence, the University has prepared about 1500 doctors in 54 medical specialities. The graduates of the University work in clinics of different cities of the Republic of Belarus, Newly Independent States and Western Europe.The institute cooperates with educational and research medical centres on problems of medical staff preparation, medical research, organization of medical aid with leading universities of Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Scotland, France, Germany, Poland, Japan.

Research workThe researchers of our Institute successfully work in different fields of medicine:
surgery

obstetrics and gynecology
immunology
ecology, and others;
participate in fulfillment of state programs of research, fundamental social studies. The academic and research staff of the University has published more than 200 manuals, realized 24 state programs, published 25 monographs and hundreds of scientific articles, defended 45 candidate and 8 doctoral dissertations.

Research work is carried out in 31 department and 5 profile research labs. The research are conducted in the fields of pathogenesis, clinics and treatment of actual surgical, therapeutic and infectious diseases in modern environment; development of new technologies of medical, occupational and social rehabilitation; the physiological, biochemical and immunological status of human in conditions of modern ecosystems; clinical and epidemiological features and rational organization of prevention of tuberculosis and some diseases of respiratory organs.

Eligibility Criteria for student :-
Eligibility certificate from MCI (Medical Council of India) for Indian Students is required. In order to get eligibility certificate from MCI it is necessary to apply in the prescribed format attached with this brochure or it can be downloaded from the website of MCI www.mciindia.org students obtaining 50% marks in (PCBE) i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, & English (40% marks in case of students belonging to reserved category) in 12th science standard and over 17 years of age are eligible for medical studies as per the norms of MCI.

About Medical University

Vitebsk State Medical University was founded in November 1934. Situated in the ceter of the city of Vitebsk, University is one of the biggest establishements. of the city. It has five hostels out of which two hostels are for foreign students only.

The University is a Govt. Establishement and comes under the Ministry of health of Republic of Belarus and is recognized by WHO, European Union, US, UK. The students getting degrees from the University can directly practice in all countries of European Union.

Medical Council of india recognizes the University and Students from India are studying in the Academy from the year 1983. Presenlty about 630 foreign students from the different continents i.e. Asia (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia etc.) Europe (Greece, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Romania etc.) Latin America and Africa are studying in the University.

The first Rector was Professor M.A.Hazanov. The foundation of Medical Faculty was finished by 1941. It included 32 theoretical and clinical departments. The Great Patriotic War broke the work of the Institute for several years. Many teachers and students participated in the defence of the country. The city and the Institute were almost in ruins.

The rebuilding of the Institute was started in 1946. Years passed. Medical Institute was expanding, its clinical base was improving. The number of highly qualified specialists, professors and scientific workers was growing. In 1959, the Pharmaceutical Faculty was opened along with the Medical Faculty. A year later the Institute began to train specialists in the postgraduate study courses. In 1963 the Central Scientific Research Laboratory was opened in order to train scientists and highly qualified lecturers. During the last decades the Institute was developing very intensively. In 1984 the Faculty for Advanced Specialization in General medicine was established.

In October 1993 the Ministry of public Health of the Republic of Belarus resolved to transfer the Faculty for Advanced Specialization in Farmacy to Vitebsk Medical Institute. In 1997 the Preliminary Training Faculty was established. Since september 1981 Vitebsk State Medical Institute Started to train the overseas students at Preliminary Training, Medical and Pharmaceutical Faculties. The number of foreign students was increasing and in 1997 the Faculty for Overseas students Training was opened. For the large merits in training physicians for public health of Asia, Africa, Near East and Latin America, Vitebsk State Medical Institute was awarded with the Medal of Peoples’ Friendship by the presidum of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In the beginning of 1999, according to the Republic of Belarus Ministry of education Vitebsk State Medical Institute was accredited to a University status. The University was headed by famous scientists and physicians, talented organizes of public health :

Since 19997 the Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University is a Corresponding member of Belarus Academy of Medicine Professor A.N. Kosinets. The Stomatological and higher Medical School Pedagogic and Psyshology Faculties were established in 2001. In accordance with the opening in 2001 of the Advanced Training Courses in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, Oncology, Pediatrics, Clinical Immunology and Allergology the Faculty for Specialization was renamed into the Postgraduate Medical and Pharmaceutical Faculty. At present there are 7 Faculties, 53 Departments, Central Scientific Research Laboratory, Scientific Medical Informational Department, Educational and Methodical Informational Center and the Library, Polygraphic Editing and Publishing Center, Sport gym and Stadium. The Medical, the Stomatological and the Pharmaceutical faculties are training practitioners and pharmaceutists on speciality “Medicine”, “Stomatology” and “Pharmacy”. The top graduates are studying at clinical residency. At the miment more then 4 thousand of students are studying at the University. There are 396 lecturers of whom 58 are professors and 180 Associate Professors. There are 13 scientific academic schools at the University both on medical-biological, clinical and pharmaceutical disciplines which have introduced a substantial contribution to the development of a modern medical sciences and the improvement of medical education in the Republic of Belarus and the countries of the former USSR.

This society of young scientists is one of the famous in Belarus and the nearest countries. The magazines “Surgery News” and “Pharmacy News”, “Immunology”, “VGMU News”, “Motherhood and Childhood Protection”, the regular newspaper “Medvuzovets” are published by the University.

The overseas students are studying at the University since 1981. For this period of time more then 900 specialists graduated from Vitebsk State Medical University. They successfully work in different institutions, public health, clinics of 109 countries of the world. The overseas postgraduates continue to study at the clinical residency and research postgraduate training courses, 11 of them defended their thesis. There are 4 special Scientific Boards of the doctors and candidates’ thesis defence on different specialties (Parasitology, Helminthology; Drugs Technology and Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy; Internal surgery and Gastroenterology, Clinical Immunology and Allergology). Nowadays the University scientists perform researches on 40 perspective medical projects.

There are 45 scientific study groups of students. The society of young scientists is one of the famous in Belarus and the nearest countries. According to the Republic competition of students’ research works in 2001, 40 authors were awarded the first category, 30 authors-the second, 10 authors- the third category. 22 students’ works were honoured with the Grant of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Lukashenko.

The University develops different contacts in the realm of medical education and physicians training, scientific research, methodical and informational exchange with many institutions of Russian Federation and other countries. Republic centers “Infection in Surgery” Minimal Invasive Surgery, Central Scientific Research Laboratory of the University are well known abroad.

The University is the organizer of the international academic meetings. which stimulate active participation of all the scientists and lectures of the University in the activity of professional international societies and associations. Some of the well-known lecturers and scientists have been elected to the foreign Scientific Academies.

There is a problem-based teaching, integration in the studying of the theoretical and clinical disciplines at the University. There are a ating and three stages of students’ knowledge estimation of all disciplines (Computer tests, practical skills estimation, interview). The Educational Methodical Center is coordinating the work of modern educational technologies.

The specialists of the University have developed modern educational programs in order to train highly qualified medical specialists. All the departments have computer test, plasta casts and phantoms, modern medical-diagnostic equipment. The University has Botanic Garden and lndustrial Training Chemist’s, which are used for pharmacy specialists training. There are 5 computer classes and 19 video classes and Multimedia Laboratory at the University.

The physicians practical skills training is held in 28 well equipped therapeutic and surgical clinics.
All Departments Bodies are publishing lectures, recommendations, monographs, scientific works, conference materials.
There is a Central Scientific Research Laboratory with modern equipment for training highly qualified specialists at the University.
The Medical Scientific Informational Department has the patent fund, data base “Medicine” (Russia), “ Medline” (USA), “International Pharmacy Reports “ (USA).
All the students and professorial staff have access to the world information through Internet.
The Polygraphic Editing and Publishing Center of the University provide with all the necessary educational and scientific materials.
Some clinical and theoretical departments have scientific laboratories. A number of different youth organizations, sport clubs and art groups work at the Medical University. There are 5 comfortable hostels, hotel complex “Dvina” (the hotel, a restaurant, a bar, a car-park, 3 cafes and 3 students’ canteens) for students of Vitebsk State Medical University.

Belarus is a unitary, democratic & socially oriented state. The area of Belarus is 207; 595 sq. km. and it is surrounded by Poland, Lithuania, Russia & Ukraine. The Population of Belarus is 10.3 millions where density of population is only 49.3. The average life expectancy is 73.9 years. GRODNO City

Till 1939 Grodno was a part of Poland after that it became Belarussian city. The Grodno city is one of the most ancient city (founded 1128) located in the north west of the republic of Belarus The Grodno region comprises of 17 districts, 194 rural councils, 12 towns and 21 Urbanized settlements. Grodno region with its borders with Poland and Lithuania, is a good intergrating link in the trade of the countries of European Union (EU) and CIS & Asian countries.

At Present Grodno is a large industrial center with the population of 350, 000 inhabitants Grodno is situated on the bank of deep and beautiful river “Nieman” In fact it divides the city into two parts the old one & the new one. Grodno is a very green city with many parks, flowers flower beds and gardens. Grodno region has highly developed ecological clean agriculture that is why the city market are full of vegetables, fruits, meat & milk products.

Grodno is a city of many secondary schools, higher educational Institutes, Universities. It has lot of places of interest like, historical & cultural monuments, two theaters, the regional philharmonic society, The Zoo, city has many ancient catholic orthodox churches, In general the climate is soft, there is not much snow & cold in winter and summers are warmth pleasant.

Grodno State Medical University

The Grodno State Medical University was founded in 1958. It is a recognised government-educational, diagnostic and scientific center of medical science in Republic of Belarus. At present 50 doctors of science and rofessors,108 assistant professors, 209 candidates of Sciences are employed at the university.

GSMU cooperates with medical educational and research centers in Poland (Warsawa, Khrakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Bialystok, Germany, Russia-Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tver) and other places. International Scientific and practical conference Scientific-Congresses, Lecturers and seminars on different problems of Medicine are regularly held here. On 14th Feb., 2000 The ministry of public health of the Republic of Belarus Conferred the legal status of the UNIVERSITY to the Grodno State Medical Institute. This enables the university with great possibilities for co-operation in the field of education at the European level.

Faculty of Foreign Students

More than 350 students from 26 different countries such as India, Syria, Lebanon, Poland, Israel, Greece, Lithuania, Armenia, Gerorgia, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Morocco, Cameroon, Maritius etc. There are clubs and communities of foreign students at the university. Excellent students go to the West European countries to participate in medical Scientific conferences and symposia, they are granted discounts for their excellent studies.

There is an “Internet Center” with free access for foreign students to remain in touch with, parents. Libraries, Gymnasiums, Stadium, Sports hall are at students disposal. The foreign students are judged of knowledge by International program of Medical tests. After Graduation the graduates get international Diploma and are confessed the title of Doctor of medicine. Russian Preparatory Faculty

All overseas students who wants to persuie their medical studies in Russian language have to study russian language for minimum 8 months During these months, They study russian, language and revise Biology, Physics, Chemistry. of +2 level in russian medium Medical studies they start. On Completion of language course they star medical studies in Russian language, along with Belarussian students.

English Medium Medical Faculty

Study of M.D. Physician course in english language was started in 2002 by the joint efforts of GSMU and Global Education Service More than 100 indian students are already studying in this faculty. International scientists and professors come to GSMU to deliver lectures. The students directly start studying in first year of M.D. Physician course without doing russian language The programme and syllabus of MBBS is same for both the languages but in english medium they save one year all the academic classes are conducted in english medium

Postgraduate Education

Overseas students continue their studies at Clinical Residency or Post graduate Training Course on a very wide range of specialties (surgery, pediatrics, cardiology, ophthalmology, urology, oncology, orthopedics and traumatology, otolaryngology, and radiology). The study at the Clinical Residency lasts for 2-4 years. Maximum of 3 residents can be enrolled at the same time in one department.

Facilities

Library
University has well equipped library facility all the books are provided by library on compulsory basis free of charge. It has central networking of library data base and 24 hours Internet connection allowing students quick access to World Wide Web.

Hostel
There are 4 hostels on walkable distance from the university .


Hostels can accommodate 1840 students. Two of the hostels are flat type i.e. With attached bath room, toilet and kitchen. The hostels are centrally heated ( air-conditioned). Hostels are fully furnished. The basic system is two students in one room. Separate arrangements for boys and girls. Students can get Indian food at the canteen of the hostel and foreign TV channels (Hindi, Tamil etc.) are also available. All the hostels are well guarded with police security. Bed Linen is changed once in a week and hostel is cleaned once everyday. Students also have to strictly follow the hostel rules and regulations.

The cultural center organises cultural programs every year in which students of different countries take part. International Cricket Tournament, Chess, Championship, Football, Badminton Etc are some events of the year. the university also organises tours to neighboring cities and european countries for the foreign There has been n a cricket tournament between INDIA & PAKISTAN on 10th June 2004.

In which Indian Team won the match & was granted trophy by Dean & The Director's of the Global Education Service. There are many Indian Dance & Cultural Clubs of the Local Belarussian Public. Students celebrate all Indian festival like Diwali, Holi, Baisakhi etc and there is a holiday in the university on that day.

General information

Novgorod State University is the leading regional school offering wide range of graduate and postgraduate programmes in almost fields of medicine, natural sciences, engineering, humanities etc.

The first school in Novgorod was set up by Grand prince Yaroslav the Wise in the year of 1030. The academic traditions of Novgorod State University go back to the Middle Ages. The University now comprises five Institutes (Institute of Medical Education, Institute of Humanities, Institute of Continuous Pedagogical Education, Institute of Economics and Public Administration, Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources), four engineering faculties and five colleges of vocational education. University Education

The University offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programs. All academic programs at all levels are based on curricula determined by the University. Instruction is carried out through lectures, seminars and practical assignments.

All coursework at the University is conducted in Russian. For students without previous formal Russian study, the University provides an intensive preparatory year through its Department of Russian as a Foreign Language. After completing the preparatory program, students receive a certificate and may continue their studies at NovSU or any other Russian University.

Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry


Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry is the leading national institution to train medical specialists in the field of Dentistry. The University is ranked among top medical schools in the country. It was established more than 80 years ago as Moscow Medical Institute of Dentistry. The school is also known as The Third Moscow Medical Institute. In August 1999 it was granted by a status of a university and since this time is named Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry.

Now the University is educational establishment offering different undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate medical programmes. It serves as head organization in most national scientific and educational projects in the field of Dentistry. The University includes 5 faculties (Dentistry, General Medicine, Further training of dentists, Postgraduate education, Nursery), several clinics, hospitals and research institutes (including the Center of Clinical Diagnostics, Center of Cosmetic Surgery, Center of Rehabilitation, Children Center of Implantology, Clinical Center for High Technologies and some others), libraries, museums, and many other facilities. There are 82 scientific and clinical departments. The University's stuff includes more than 200 full professors and about 360 associate of professors. They deliver lectures to more than 5000 students from all over the world. Prospective interns of the University may choose their specialty among 39 items.

The teaching of international students started here in 1955. During these years about 500 students from over 35 countries received MD degree from the University. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy

The I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy (MMA) is the oldest and the largest national medical higher educational institution. The MMA forefather was the medical faculty of Imperial Moscow University opened by efforts of the Great Russian scientist M.V. Lomonosov. The first six students began their studies at the faculty in 1758. In 1930, the medical faculty was separated from Moscow State University to become the 1st Moscow Medical Institute. In 1990, in order to create perfect elite education and deeper integrated research, the country's most powerful medical institute was reorganised as the Medical Academy.

Nowadays, the Academy places the leading role in the development of medical science and training, certification, and advanced training of medical, pharmaceutical and scientific personnel. The members of the staff of the Academy are engaged as experts and consultants of the World Health Organisation. According to UNESCO international rating the Moscow Medical Academy takes the second place after Rene Descartes Academy of Medical Sciences. MMA is arguably the best medical school in Russia. The MMA Diploma is recognized by WHO and the Medical Councils of many countries. The degrees of the Academy open the doors to European countries, the USA and Canada.

The Academy comprises: 11 faculties, 115 academic departments, scientific research and clinical centres, an editorial and publishing section, 18 clinics, a library, and other subdivisions. Moscow Medical Academy has 69 buildings for studies, classrooms and lecture halls, the clinical centre with 18 diverse clinics for 3080 patients, a large united scientific centre, several research institutes, the fundamental library, the laboratories, the botanical garden, and the stadium. The total area of the Academy training and laboratory premises exceeds 200,000 sq m or 25 sq m per student. There are four student hostels for 1,770 people. The Academy has been collaborating with 40 therapeutic-prophylactic and apothecary institutions, the research centres and institutes in Moscow. About 8000 students from Russia and foreign countries have studied annually in the Academy. They are trained in Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Dentistry (since 2001).

The I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy has gained a considerable experience in the international students training. Since 1949 to date over 2000 specialists from 87 countries have been trained there. In 2001 about 900 foreign citizens were students of the Academy. The excellent Preparatory course, the hostel with comfortable living conditions, a division with instructions conducted in English have brought the MMA training standards close to those of the best higher medical educational institutions of the member-countries of European Community.

Russian State Medical University

The school was founded in 1906 when classes a the newly founded the Medical Faculty of the Moscow High Women's Courses were started. In 1930 it was transformed into the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute. On the 5th of November 1991, be the edict of the Government of the Russian Federation it was reorganized into the Moscow State Medical University. During its more than 90-year history, the University has made many changes as far as the school's structure, contents of curriculum and teaching trends are concerned, while maintaining high quality of training for medical students and doctors in the main academic disciplines.

Today Russian State Medical University is a complex of buildings designed for practical classes, lectures, laboratory studies, library, research work and auxiliary services, covering a total area of 1,119 thousand square meters and including a students' township "Medik", located near the study buildings. It consists of four hotel-type buildings with a dining hall (total area - 42000 sq. m.). Accommodation at the student hostels is provided for all out-of-town students.

The leading divisions of the University are Medical faculty, Pediatric faculty, Bio-Medical faculty, and facultiy of postgraduate studies. The Pediatric faculty of the University, which was founded in 1930, was the first pediatric faculty in the world. The faculties include 115 academic departments. Russian State Medical University has very close link with practical medicine. The University has access to more than 70 specialized clinics, hospitals and other institutions of preventive and clinical medicine with more than 19,000 beds. Here medical students get extensive clinical training under the supervision of experienced clinicians. Staff of the University includes over 30 academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, 24 State Prize-Winners, 8 merited scientists of Russian Federation. In 1997 the University opened a new English language Department of the Medical faculty to give the students an opportunity to avoid one-year study at preparatory courses.

The Russian State Medical University has gained considerable experience in the foreign students training. Since 1960 over 2000 specialists from more than 80 countries have been trained there. Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935) is a great Russian scientist and inventor in the field of aerodynamics, aerospace engineering and the theory of aircraft, rockets and dirigible. He was a founder of contemporary astronautics. So, the Institute had honestly been credited to bear his name. On June 17, 1940 Moscow Institute of Aviation Technology (or shortly MATI) was established on the basis of the later. MATI attained the University status and name Moscow State Aviation Technology Institute - Russian State Technological University in 1992 - as the recognition of both the scale and quality of its courses.

Today the University is one of the leading Russian technical universities where highly skilled experts in the field of advanced materials and high technologies are trained. Among the University teaching staff there are Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Engineering Academy, Russian Academy of Technological Sciences and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. About 260 Professors and Doctors of Science as well as more than 700 associate professors and Ph.D. holders work at the University.

Scientific and research activities as well as training of seniors are performed in cooperation with Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (Khrunichev Space R&D Center - is a leader of national space industry in development of new technology for space exploration). The cooperation has resulted in establishing MATI's branch at Khrunichev Space R&D Center. This MATI's division has received name "Aerospace University for Specialized Training". The main goal for establishing of Aerospace University was precise training of the specialists in the field of development and production of advanced aerospace technology.

MATI leads very active international policy toward a wide international co-operation and teaching highly qualified personnel. The University staff contributed to several international projects in all spheres connecting to aviation/space design, research, production, marketing, service, maintenance, repair and finance. In collaboration with foreign colleagues the University has established overseas Educational Centers. It participates in the European University Consortium in Aerospace Engineering (STAR project), international ecological projects REAP, SEPS. MATI has been successfully developing joint educational and research programmes with universities in Western Europe, USA and Asia. High quality of specialist training and technological trends in education and research stipulated the variety of MATI international links and partnership.

International students got an access to the famous educational programs of MATI in 1991. Currently, more than 200 students from Great Britain, USA, Germany, South Korea, Turkey, India, Nepal, Kenya, Morocco, Oman, China, Iran and some other countries are studying at the University.

University realizes the training according to the 24 specialties of higher professional education and trains researchers according to the 28 scientific specialties. Practical training and research straight at the real working places and Centre's research labs allow to expand an engineering outlook of the students and to familiarize them with the contemporary problems of the aerospace industry.

Structure of the University

There are five main faculties in the University:

Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and Technology
Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering works in the field of aircraft and spacecraft engineering and design. His activities also concern the problems of various equipment development to provide the normal operation of the aircraft, their complexes and systems. Objects of Bachelor's professional activity are airplanes, helicopters, rockets, spacecraft, technical systems (engines, life ensuring and protection facilities, launch and other ground complexes) and technological processes for their manufacturing.

Faculty of Material Science and Technology
Material Science and Technology is a special branch of the modern sciences, which provides creation of the advanced materials as well as new technological principles and methods for their processing. The objects of Bachelor's professional activity are investigation and development of new advanced materials and technology for their processing, development of the correlation between material structure and properties.

Faculty of Avionics and Informational Systems

Avionics is the branch of the industry dealing with the problems of aircraft control systems design and technology, radio and electronic device design and technology, development of the apparatus for providing investigations of environment, space and ocean. It also concerns various instruments and devices for control and measuring, including even medical equipment. The objects of professional activity are devices, systems and complexes used in various fields of industry and science. A specialist in this field could solve the following industrial and scientific problems: development of automated systems for quality control; development of computer technologies in instrument making; development of automated systems for data processing, aircraft control systems design etc.

Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science

Nowadays, Computer Science is the most rapidly developing branch of industry and science. It provides new possibilities for collecting, storing and transfer of the information, as well as design and utilization of devices and computing systems. The objects of professional activity are computers, networks and software, design and development of new informational and Internet technologies.

Faculty of Economics and Ecology
Bachelor's activity in Economics concerns industrial administration, marketing and management with application of advanced informational technologies and economical theories. Specialists in Ecology deal with the problems of environment control, rational utilization of natural resources.

International students of the University are supervised by Department of International Education. The Department offers a wide range of services to foreign students at all stages of their University life. This includes assistance and help to the new students in organisation of their life and study here, solving emergency problems. The staff advises students exploring their future options, helps finalists and postgraduates with their decision-making and transition into life beyond University. The Department offers Russian language and culture programs. General courses on Russian grammar, phonetics, conversation, reading and translation, business language, science language (technical) are available via various programs.

Studies

Foreign students usually begin their study taking the Foundation course where they learn Russian language and some fundamental subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, technical drawing. After that they continue education in training group together with Russian students according to one of the 4-year Bachelor programs. Upon receiving BS degree, students may study according to the Master programs during 2 years or one of Engineering courses during 1,5 years.

Ph.D. degree (Candidate of Science in Russia) determines the highest level of education and specialist qualification. The main goal of Ph.D. programs is to train highly qualified researchers and lecturers.

Every student of the University is offered to use the specialised library, several sport courts, well-equipped computer classes, students' cafe and hospital. The students are able to visit Russian-British aerospace school developed in cooperation with University of Kensington. Students' design office "Poljet" /The Fly/ is the place to make your first steps in the field. Several sport and leisure clubs /including Parachute club/ are open for students of the University.

A student of MATI is guaranteed with accommodation in a comfortable students' hostel: each living block has single and double rooms, a common well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and WC. The rooms are fully furnished and supplied with bed linen and telephones (if requested). The hostel is situated not far from the metro station. Accommodation in the hostel is available for Euro 75 (renovated room) per month.

Moscow Power Engineering Institute

Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) - MPEI - was founded in 1930 in Moscow at the very beginning of world power engineering development and was widened and enlarged with the discovering of new energy sources, solving new scientific and technological problems, implementing of new methods of energy generating, distributing and consuming. MPEI is of the same age as Russian Power Engineering.

MPEI now is the largest Russian Power Engineering University and scientific centre, is one of the main universities in Russia in the field of Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computers` Education. MPEI today is a unity of modern educational and scientific laboratories, cabinets and lecture halls rig up with modern equipment, installations, control and measuring systems and technical means of education. The MPEI has the official status of Technical University and is a Member of International Association of Universities being really international higher educational institution. In accordance with official rating of the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation the MPEI holds the leading place in the list of all technical universities in the country.

Today MPEI consists of 5 Technical Institutes, 3 special faculties, preparatory faculty and faculty for retraining of the specialists, Institute of Humanities, Institute of technology, ecology and business, and Institute of a safety in business. MPEI has an unique educational Heat and Power Plant, Main Computer Centre and several computer well-equipped laboratories, the centre of video-computer methods of teaching, centre of distant education, one of the largest university's scientific and technological library, publishing division, which manufacture text-books, manuals, scientific literature; audio-video-computer Russian Language Centre; large sport stadium, swimming pool, and sport halls. Eligibility Criteria for student :-
Eligibility certificate from MCI (Medical Council of India) for Indian Students is required. In order to get eligibility certificate from MCI it is necessary to apply in the prescribed format attached with this brochure or it can be downloaded from the website of MCI www.mciindia.org students obtaining 50% marks in (PCBE) i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, & English (40% marks in case of students belonging to reserved category) in 12th science standard and over 17 years of age are eligible for medical studies as per the norms of MCI.
